TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Wednesday said the Covid-19 cases are also surging in other provinces outside Java and Bali. Therefore, the Covid-19 restriction dubbed as Micro PPKM will be tightened.
“Level 4 [of public activity restriction] has been set across 43 regencies and cities,” said Airlangga in the press conference on July 7.
He ordered governors, regents, and mayors of the 43 regions to enforce stricter activity restriction policies and strengthen the facilities to support the curbs.
Citing the Home Affairs Ministry’s instruction, each region must improve coronavirus testings and tracings, according to the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendation.
As for the treatment, it must be done comprehensively according to the patients' condition.
“Only patients with medium, severe, and critical symptoms should be hospitalized while others should conduct self-isolation at home,” he said.
Minister Airlangga revealed that hospitals outside Java and Bali are currently seeing a rise in bed occupancy rate, as they log over 60 percent Covid-19 patients. The regions are Lampung, Riau Islands, East Kalimantan, West Papua, West Kalimantan, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, and West Sumatra.
