Pertamina Distributes 20 Tons of Oxygen Supply for Medical Use

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-energy firm Pertamina on Tuesday announced that it is sending 27 ISO containers filled with 20 tons of oxygen supply for medical uses which will help hospitals that are treating Covid-19.
21 of the said oxygen tanks will be sourced from Central Sulawesi aboard sea transport and is scheduled to arrive at the Port of Tanjung Priok today while the rest sourced from East Kalimantan will arrive at the same port on July 9.
Pertamina president director Nicke Widyawati in her statement today said this is the company’s support to assist the government in helping treat coronavirus patients that need serious hospital treatment.
“This swift act is proof of Pertamina’s contribution to support the government,” she said on July 6.
Initial oxygen supplies have also been distributed to ten hospitals located in Central Java and Yogyakarta, the two provinces in Java that have also seen a spike in Covid-19 cases, with a total of 29.9 tons. The company referred to data logged by the national oxygen task force and determined that the two provinces are in dear need of supplies.
As of today, Pertamina had also distributed 16.5 tons of medical oxygen supply to the Sardjito General Hospital and PKU Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta.
