Indonesia Records Another Record High of Nearly 30,000 COVID-19 Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is still unable to curb the increasing number of new COVID-19 cases. On Monday, July 5, authorities recorded 29,745 new infections over the last 24 hours, the country's highest daily count to date.
This brings the country's COVID-19 caseload to 2,313,829 since the novel coronavirus was first detected in March 2020.
Meanwhile, the number of new recoveries today is less than half at 14,416. To date, Indonesia has recorded 1,942,690 COVID-19 recoveries.
Authorities also reported 558 new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total to 61,140.
The Indonesian government is also monitoring 79,808 people with suspected infections of COVID-19. Today's number of specimens tested was 110,115.
