TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The Bekasi City Government, West Java, scheduled a mass Covid-19 vaccination for 25,000 people at the Patriot Chandrabaga Stadium today, July 1, 2021. The vaccination is divided into two sessions to prevent crowds.

Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi said the first session starts from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. local time, while the second session starts at 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Each session will have two routes that are each for residents of three sub-districts.

“The screening process has been carried out on D-1 at the health community centers (Puskesmas) of each domicile,” said Rahmat in Bekasi, Wednesday, June 30.

Rahmat added that his side deployed hundreds of vaccinators. The program was predicted to last in less than four hours considering that the previous inoculation event involving 8,000 people only took two hours.

In addition to health workers, he went on, hundreds of joint personnel were mobilized to secure the mass vaccination. “Everything is carried out under strict health protocols,” the mayor remarked.

Rahmat said Bekasi residents showed high enthusiasm to get vaccinated. Each sub-district is given a quota of 460 people, but more than 600 people registered in the Covid-19 vaccination program. “There will be more programs. There are still 100,000 more doses [of Covid-19 vaccine],” he said.
