TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government reportedly planned to impose the enforcement of the emergency public activity restriction or Emergency Micro PPKM policy to curb the spread of Covid-19 which is getting worse.

A source who acknowledged the plan said this latest PPKM policy will be implemented from July 2 to July 20, 2021. “The surge in Covid-19 cases needs to be controlled immediately,” said the person.

It was said that the new version of PPKM will be implemented starting from the neighboring unit (RT), village, subdistrict, to district or city levels under the discretion of the Governor. The evaluation of the policy will be carried out every two weeks.

The implementation of the Covid-19 restriction is regulated in several stages by considering the average daily cases and the hospital bed occupancy rate. Each stage will determine the level of the policy applied in the area.

The first phase or level I is the Emergency Micro PPKM. This stage is imposed when the average daily case hits more than 20,000 and the hospital bed occupancy rate is above 70 percent.

Phase II is carried out when the number of new daily cases reaches 10,000 to 20,000 per day and the hospital occupancy rate is between 50 percent to 70 percent. Phase II is called tightened PPKM Mikro.

Phase III is being implemented when the daily cases of Covid-19 amount to around 5,000 to 10,000 and the hospital bed occupancy rate is at 30 to 50 percent.

Meanwhile, Phase IV or Limited Micro PPKM is carried out if the number of the Covid-19 daily cases is less than 5,000 and the hospital bed occupancy rate is below 30 percent.
