TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Thursday, June 24, urged capital city residents to take extra precautions against the Covid-19 in public and private spaces. He said potential transmissions can also come from gatherings and meetings.
“Many of potential transmissions come from private spaces,” the governor stated in a written statement on Thursday, June 24.
Similar to many of the governor’s speeches, Anies Baswedan urged people to abide by the pandemic health protocols, especially during the urgent situation where cases have surged.
He called for all to remind each others about the risks in transmitting coronavirus, especially in private spaces that are not monitored by the government.
“It’s impossible to be monitored by the task force team, nor the government,” said Anies Baswedan.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in Jakarta has been increasing significantly, which aligns with the rising number of deaths with the highest daily deaths logged at 180.
