TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko on Thursday went to Instagram, lamenting the people who continue to neglect the dangers of the Covid-19 pandemic since Indonesia is facing a surge in active cases caused by the new strains.
Through his personal social media account, he said “I truly regret that there still are groups of people who neglect the situation. I can understand that the pandemic has brought significant changes.”
The former military commander encouraged members of the public to refrain from conducting activities that go against the micro PPKM or micro-scale public activity restrictions, which is specifically designed to reduce public mobility.
He reminded his followers that the current sacrifice by staying home will not go in vain. “If we all actively participate and I am sure if we are willing and care, we can do this together and collectively survive these difficult times.”
Apart from reminding people about the second wave of Covid-19, Moeldoko also urged people to show compassion and help support neighbors or relatives who are conducting self-isolation.
