Indonesian Floating Hospital Sinks in West Nusa Tenggara

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A floating hospital or RSA has sunk in Sape Strait, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) last Wednesday, June 16. The floating hospital, which belonged to and was initiated by dr. Lie Dharmawan, was sailing from Kupang to Torano.
Prior to the incident, dr. Lie had just completed his medical assignment in Semau Island.
Thankfully, there were no casualties. All six people on board survived the incident.
On the boat, dr. Lie had been sailing since 2013 for his doctorSHARE program, to answer the medical needs of people living in Indonesia's remote islands.
No exact cause on why the boat sank had been determined. The doctor is said to be a man who keeps his practice going even during bad weathers and strong waves.
