Jokowi Aims to Complete Covid-19 Vaccination in Bogor by August

  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo witnessed the mass Covid-19 vaccination at the Pakansari Stadium, Bogor, in West Java. The president is eyeing to vaccinate at least 5,000 residents nearby the Pakansari Stadium area and 10,000 people in the general area of Bogor. 

    “There are 10,000 people today across the Pakansari Stadium and a number of hospitals and community health centers that are located in Bogor Regency,” said the President. 

    The elderly group along with academics, market traders, religious figures, government employees, public services employees, people with disabilities, and groups that are prone to the coronavirus are subjected to the vaccination.

    During a video conference following the event, President Jokowi encouraged healthcare workers from the hospitals and healthcare community centers located in the regency to fast-track the inoculation to reach the herd immunity. "We hope, it will be able to suppress the spread of Covid.”

    Through this, he targetted Bogor Regency will reach herd immunity by August this year. 

    The President was accompanied by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and Bogor Regent Ade Munawaroh Yasin.
