TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo today, June 17, monitored the Covid-19 vaccination in Bogor Station, West Java. This is part of the national vaccination program that is carried out simultaneously throughout the archipelago.
The President was seen wearing a white shirt and accompanied by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. He walked around the vaccination site while greeting the participants.
As an agglomeration area that supports the capital city of Jakarta, he opined, Bogor has high public interaction and mobility.
“On that basis, we want to prioritize Commuter Line (KRL) passengers and workers at the station [in the vaccination program] to protect them from Covid-19,” said the State Head after the monitoring.
He also asked for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout to be accelerated in areas with high interaction and mobility, starting from train stations, trains, terminals, airports, up to airports.
“Because the areas [are prone to virus transmission], if we don’t hurry [the Covid-19 vaccine rollout], the virus will spread. I hope with the start of the Covid-19 vaccination this morning at the station, all will be protected from Covid-19,” Jokowi said.
