TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security, Mahfud MD, on Tuesday, June 8, said that the government is planning to produce an omnibus law in the field of electronics to guarantee the security of electronic transactions.
The minister explained that the current law is yet able to reach a number of aspects such as consumer data protection, personal data protection, financial electronic transactions, and so on, despite ongoing threats of potential cyberattacks.
“The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) explained the dangers of the digital realm, based on international studies and surveys. Therefore, we decided to create some form of omnibus law in the field of electronics,” said Mahfud MD in a press conference on June 8.
