  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The pandemic and its social distancing measures have led to many people experiencing boredom, stress, and exhaustion. As reported by Pinkvilla, nutritionist Vidhi Chawla suggested consuming fresh produce and foods to relieve stress and anxiety.

The following vegetables and fruits are said to have the ability to reduce anxiety and stress.

The vitamin B6 in avocados produces many neurotransmitters, including serotonin, which can affect the human mood. Vitamin B can also reduce anxiety, stress, fat, and can even help dilate blood cells.

Blueberries are a source of vitamin C and have antioxidant flavonoids, which have neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory behaviors. They can help reduce inflammation and prevent stress-related damage.

Spinach is high in magnesium and rich in folate, which helps regulate the mood.

Broccoli is high in concentrations of certain nutrients, such as magnesium, vitamin C and folate, which can help reduce the risk of, among others, heart diseases and mental health disorders, as well as depression.

    Swiss Radish

This vegetable has anti-stress nutrients in the form of magnesium, which can prevent stress-related anxiety and panic.

Oranges are known for their high content of vitamin C. The nutrients in oranges can reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol which causes damage in the body thereby boosting immunity.
