TEMPO.COJakarta A number of survey institutions have commenced observing potential candidates for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). Based on the results of the latest studies conducted by three pollsters, Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan are in the top three electability ratings with above 10 percent.

Here are the results of surveys conducted by three pollsters:

The Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) released its latest survey in February which was conducted on January 25-31, 2021. Involving 1,200 respondents, the pollster used a multistage random sampling method. The margin of error was claimed to be at 2.9 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.

The closed simulation concluded that Prabowo led the poll with 26 percent among ten other potential candidates, followed by Ganjar Pranowo (15.4 percent), and Anies Baswedan (13.3 percent). The electability of other potential candidates was still lower than 10 percent.

Charta Politika also released a survey in March 2021. It was launched on March 20-24, 2021, and involved 1,200 respondents via phone interviews. The pollster used a stratified randomization method and claimed the survey's margin of error was 2.83 percent with a 95-percent confidence level.

In the simulation of 12 names, the electability rate of Prabowo reached 19.6 percent, Ganjar (16 percent), and Anies (12.6 percent), while other potential candidates had below 10 percent.

The most recent survey was conducted last May by Indikator Politik Indonesia. The poll was held using a simple random sampling method and involved 1,200 people on April 13-17, 2021. It was claimed that this survey had a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

The pollster performed a semi-open simulation with 17 names. As a result, Ganjar Pranowo took the top spot with 15.7 percent, Anies Baswedan 14.6 percent, and Prabowo Subianto 11.1 percent. Other potential candidates also had below 10 percent of the electability rate.
