TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bio Farma president director Honesti Basyir said that 77,000 doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine have been distributed for the Gotong Royong Vaccination Program. The program is a company-funded inoculation drive held by SOEs or private firms for their employees.
"Of the 77,000 doses distributed, the inoculation is 22,000," Honesti said in a hearing with the DPR's Commission VI in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 25.
The Gotong Royong Vaccination program started on May 18. The vaccines used for this program are made by Chinese companies Sinopharm and ConSina.
Honesti said that 500,000 doses of Sinopharm's vaccine arrived in Indonesia mid of May. For the first stage, the vaccines would be distributed with a share of 75 percent for private companies and 25 percent for SOEs.
Bio Farma is targeting to inoculate the 500,000 doses in the first week of June.
Sinopharm is scheduled to send another million doses in the first week of June. The company has agreed to send Indonesia 15 million doses in stages.
As for Cansino's vaccine, Honesti said that it is still in the process of obtaining an emergency use authorization or EUA from the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring agency (BPOM). Cansino, whose vaccine only needs to be injected once (one dose per person), plans to supply 5 million doses for the Gotong Royong Program.
"In the first stage, 3 million will arrive from July to September. The rest would be in the fourth quarter," Honesti said.
