TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin today, May 25, inaugurated 1,000 Papua people, including those with disabilities, as employees of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
The VP said the inauguration was the government's commitment as conveyed by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on September 10, 2019.
“This inauguration ceremony is an implementation of the President's commitment to affirm the acceptance of the 1,000 best sons and daughters of Papua to work in various SOEs, including persons with disabilities,” said Ma'ruf at the inauguration event.
According to him, it reflected a new spirit of the government, especially the SOEs, in promoting the welfare of all Indonesian people and bringing pride to the people of Papua.
He believed that all Indonesians are proud of the success of Papuans and also those with disabilities in serving the country through SOEs.
Ma'ruf also advised the sons and daughters of Papua to give their best work and performance to Indonesia. “Show your best skills and prove that you are worthy of being role models for Indonesian sons and daughters,” Ma'ruf Amin said before 1,000 Papuans.
