TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said 21,616 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 Vaccine have been administered under the private scheme or the so-called Gotong Royong vaccine, which is a vaccination program paid by corporations for their employees.
“Twenty-seven companies have held the Gotong Royong vaccine program in 18 health facilities across Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Riau Island, and Maluku,” said Airlangga in a virtual press conference broadcasted on Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Meanwhile, 76,910 doses of vaccines have been rolled out for the private program. Indonesia has thus far received one million doses of Sinopharm vaccines. Besides, a total of 15 million doses of vaccine raw materials will arrive in the country gradually.
The vaccine raw materials will be then developed by state pharmacy PT Bio Farma. Companies willing to join the independent vaccine program must register their offices to the Indonesia Chamber of Trade and Industry (Kadin).
Kadin cooperated with Bio Farma to procure the vaccine and with private hospitals or health facilities to provide tools needed for the immunization.
Based on Kadin’s data as of the third week of May, more than 20,000 companies have signed up for the Gotong Royong vaccination program. The price of the Covid-19 Vaccine was set at Rp321,660 per shot and the maximum vaccination service was at Rp117,910.
