TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police kept blocking the road access heading to the capital city until May 31, 2021 in order to monitor Eid returning travelers. The roadblock policy initially lasted until May 17, 2021.
“There is no order to stop blocking the road access until now. We are ready to keep maintaining a healthy Jakarta,” said Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mohammad Fadil Imran in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 24, 2021.
Fadil instructed his personnel to continue tightening traffic monitoring. The police will also conduct early detection of COVID-19 transmission by carrying out testing, tracing, and treatment (3T).
“If there is a positive case, we will immediately carry out 3T,” he underlined.
The Jakarta Metro Police set up roadblocks in the city’s borders on May 6-17, 2021 in conjunction with the implementation of the 2021 Ketupat Operation during the Eid holiday season. The operation was enforced as a follow-up on the government’s Eid homecoming ban.
After the Eid traffic security ended, the National Police carried out the enhanced routine activities dubbed KRYD in line with the roadblocks to monitor Eid returning travelers.
