TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Covid-19 Task Force temporarily closed six tourist destinations in Bandung to suppress the spread of coronavirus.
Bandung Covid-19 task force deputy Dadang Iriana said the closure of the six tourism sites will start tomorrow, Sunday, May 23, until Tuesday on June 1st.
"The temporary closure was based on the instruction from the central government, the president, people's aspiration, and the survey in the field as they found that people did gather in crowds," Dadang said Saturday, May 22. The temporary closure was based on the issuance signed by Bandung City secretary Ema Sumarna.
The six locations include, Bandung Zoological Garden, Karang Setra Waterland, Saung Angklung Udjo, Traffic Garden (Taman Lalu Lintas), Trans Studio Bandung, and Kiara Artha Park.
Dadang Iriana iterated that there was an increase of Covid-19 cases in West Java capital within the past few days. "We hope that this effort will help suppress the number of covid cases and the people will remain healthy," he said.
The letter, Dadang went on, asks for the management of the destinations to temporarily close their sites and they will be sanctioned if violate the regulation.
