Jakarta Covid Update: 192 Eid Travelers Tested Positive

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In the last four days, the Jakarta Metro Police have detected 192 people returning to Jakarta from their Eid travels or mudik have tested positive for Covid-19. These results were obtained after testing 40,916 travelers.
"We found 192 reactive or positive results from people in Jakarta who had returned from their mudik," Jakarta Metro Police PR chief, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said on Thursday, May 20.
Yusri said officers tested 40,916 travelers who returned to Jakarta on 9,302 vehicles, both motorcycles and cars.
The travelers who tested positive for Covid-19 are currently in isolation. Ninety-nine are in self-isolation while 52 were referred to the Wisma Atlet Emergency Covid Hospital. The rest are isolated in facilities outside the Polda Metro Jaya area.
The Jakarta Metro Police will implement inspection operations on people returning to Jakarta until May 24, 2021 to anticipate the spread of Covid-19 after the Eid holidays.
