TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government ensured that it will not evaluate the price for the private vaccination or the so-called Gotong Royong Covid-19 vaccine program albeit several corporations and labor organizations considered it relatively pricey.
The Health Ministry spokesperson for the Covid-19 handling, Siti Nadia Tarmidzi, explained that the price for the shot using Sinopharm was regulated in the ministerial decree KMK No. HK 01. 07/Menkes/4643/2021.
“We have consulted about the price of the vaccine with various parties. So for the time being, we will not review the vaccine cost,” said Nadia on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Based on the policy, the price is set at Rp879,140 per person for two injections. In detail, each shot costs Rp321,660, and the maximum tariff for the vaccination service is Rp117,910 per shot.
The vaccine price for the private vaccination program, which is vaccination paid by corporations for employees and their family, was determined after consideration of inputs from a number of parties, including the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the National Public Procurement Agency, the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP), experts, and law enforcement officials.
Regarding the complaints voiced by corporations, Nadia said they could sign up for the government Covid-19 vaccination program which is provided free for the public.
