Nemangkawi Task Force Guns Down Commander of Lekagak Telenggen KKB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Joint personnel of the Indonesian military (TNI) and the National Police under the Nemangkawi Task Force have shot dead Lesmin Waker, the commander of the Pintu Angin Squad of the Lekagak Telenggen armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua.
Task force spokesman Sr. Comr. Iqbal Alqudusy said in a written statement Lesmin Waker was one of the shooters of deceased Mobile Brigade member Komang, a member of the task force.
“After a hunt in the Wuloni area, military/police personnel gunned down Lesmin Waker, the commander of the Pintu Angin Squad of the Lekagak Telenggen Terrorist Group,” Iqbal said on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
According to Iqbal, the shootout took place around Wuloni village, which was suspected of being one of the hideouts the Lekagak Telenggen group. The government has classified Lekagak Telenggen as a terrorist group.
A day earlier, the joint personnel launched an operation in Tagalowa village following a shooting incident and managed to repel the armed group and seize control of the Tagalowa camp.
