President Jokowi Tours City, Distributes 'Sembako

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Tuesday took a brief tour in the capital city of Jakarta to observe the situation ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration and national holiday.
During the tour, the President also distributed government aid in the form of staple food packages to the residents of Roxy, Cideng.
"Yes, the president distributed sembako for the residents of Roxy," said the head of presidential secretariat Heru Budi Hartono to journalists on Tuesday, May 11.
Later in the evening, the Religious Affairs Ministry will determine the first day of Syawwal, which marks the day of Eid al-Fitr in today's isbat meeting, held offline and online. The result is expected to be obtained at around 7PM.
Religious affairs minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas is expected to lead the meeting. But due to Covid-19 restrictions, he will attend the meeting virtually. Meanwhile, the participants who attend the meeting physically, will follow strict haealth protocols.
Apart from the religious affairs minister, the Isbat will be attended by the religious affairs deputy minister, Indonesian Ulema Council officials, members of the Commission VIII of the House, and a number of Ambassadors from other countries along with representatives of mass-organizations.
