TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee (KPC-PEN) Chairman, Airlangga Hartarto, ensured that the price for the private vaccination or the so-called Gotong Royong COVID-19 vaccine program was set at Rp500,000 per shot.
The non-subsidized vaccine program is vaccination paid by corporations for employees and their family members.
“The price has been set. [One dose of] the vaccine is Rp375,000 and the injection fee is Rp125,000 so that the total price is Rp500,000,” said Airlangga in an online press conference on Monday, May 10, 2021.
He also confirmed that the vaccine to be used would be the Sinopharm vaccine from China. To date, Indonesia has reportedly received 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the total procurement of 7.5 million doses.
“The Gotong Royong vaccine program is expected to kick off after the end of May. [The vaccine] has obtained certification from BPOM (Food and Drug Monitoring Agency) and MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council),” Airlangga said.
The government stated that the implementation of the Gotong Royong COVID-19 vaccine program was prioritized based on priority zones in order to curb COVID-19 transmission, companies that had registered to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and labor-intensive industrial sectors.
