Police Close Jakarta Roads on May Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police will close roads at Jl. Sudirman until MH Thamrin in Central Jakarta, due to workers' rallies on the International Labor Day or May Day.
"There'll be a closure due to May Day activities on May 1, 2021, at 8:00 until 19:00," said the police in a statement posted on its Instagram @TMCPoldaMetroJaya in Jakarta, Saturday, May 1.
Based on the traffic map uploaded by the authorities, nine roads near the Monas (National Monument) area will be closed. They are Veteran III, Medan Merdeka Utara, Medan Merdeka Selatan, roads near the Horse Statue, Budi Kemuliaan.
Next at Jalan Museum, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Abdul Muis (near to Jalan Museum) and Jalan Veteran Raya roads.
Jakarta Metro Police set 6,394 joint personnel from the military (TNI), the Police, and state apparatus in guarding the International Labor Day.
Previously, the National Police Chief of public relations Yusri Yunus said that laborers will stage their actions in three locations, namely in front of the building of International Labor Organization or ILO at MH Thamrin, in the Horse Statue area, and at the Constitutional Court in Medan Merdeka Barat.
