Munarman Arrested, Police Searches Petamburan III

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian authorities have arrested Munarman, former general secretary of the now-disbanded Islam Defenders Front (FPI). Munarman was apprehended by Densus 88, the Indonesian Police's Special Anti-terror Detachment, at the Modern Hills Housing Complex in Pamulang, South Tangerang, today, 27 April 2021.
Murnaman's arrest was confirmed by the Police Headquarters' PR Department chief, Inspector General Argo Yuwono.
Following his arrest, the police are searching a building in Petamburan, Central Jakarta that was used as FPI's headquarters.
"We are now conducting a search in Petamburan," Jakarta Metro Police PR chief, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said on Tuesday.
Argo said that Munarwan was arrested under suspicions of mobilizing people and having malicious consensus to commit crimes of terrorism, as well as withholding information.
