TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Badminton Association PBSI will send 13 athletes to compete in the Malaysia Open 2021. The tournament will be held at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on May 25 to 30.
Indonesia is sending its top badminton players for the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament as a preparation prior to the Tokyo Olympics, which is set to take place in July and August this year.
Among the players who will compete in Malaysia are Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, the world's number one in men's doubles.
After the Malaysia Open 2021, the qualification process for the 2020 Olympics will continue with the Singapore Open. It will take place June 1 to 6, serving as a closing tournament before Tokyo.
