TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo on Thursday reportedly summoned the researchers behind the controversial Covid-19 vaccine development project touted as Nusantara Vaccine.
He had summoned the researchers in a closed meeting at his home on April 22. Ganjar demanded the complete research report on the dendritic cells vaccine that had utilized facilities at the Kariadi General Hospital.
The governor said that the Doctor Moewardi General Hospital owned by the Central Java Administration was involved in the research initiated by the former health minister Terawan Agus Putranto.
“I asked for the written report,” said Ganjar. However, he claimed that the researchers were unable to provide him with the report. They, instead, scheduled another meeting to take place next week to finally present the report.
Before the research was held at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, the Central Java hospital was the development hub for the candidate-vaccine.
“I also asked about the results they achieved during the first phase but they were unable to answer that,” said Ganjar Pranowo. “Hopefully the report will come out next week.”
