TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan attended the rice harvest event along with the Sumber Makmur Farmers Association (Gapoktan) and Jakarta-owned food security firm Food Station Tjipinang in Jenang village, Majenang district, Cilacap regency, on Friday, April 16, 2021.
Anies said the joint harvest event of 50 hectares of rice fields was carried out to ensure food supplies during the holy month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri.
“The joint harvest event between Food Station and Gapoktan Sumber Makmur Cilacap is a continuation of interregional collaboration,” said Anies in his written statement.
Through this collaboration, he went on, the Cilacap regency government and Gapoktan Sumber Makmur played a role in preparing land and resources, while the Jakarta provincial government through Food Station Tjipinang provided various assistance to farmers and off-takers of agricultural products.
Anies underlined that Jakarta was grateful as it was helped by the interregional ties that maintained food security in the capital.
“This collaboration is a multi-faceted effort. For us in Jakarta, 99 percent of our food needs are supplied from the outside, and so we have high dependency. Jakarta is grateful to be able to work together with Cilacap to prepare food security for capital residents,” he said.
Anies Baswedan ensured that this principle of mutual benefit would drive the economy not only in Jakarta but also other regions.
