Indonesia's Plan for a Cryptocurrency Exchange Met with Enthusiasm

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The plan to establish a special cryptocurrency exchange by the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI) is met with a positive responses by market players.
PT HFX Internasional Berjangka president commissioner, Sutopo Widodo, on Thursday expressed gratitude for the government’s decision to establish a crypto exchange. He viewed this as the government’s attempt to show that they are serious in facilitating a legal crypto trade in Indonesia.
Citing Bisnis.com on Thursday, April 15, Widodo said “this will be a collaboration between crypto traders to collectively monitor crypto trading activities and make a better record keeping that is safer for everyone.”
He hoped that this crypto exchange would not only keep tabs of trade but also facilitate trade liquidity for crypto traders “This would create a more liquid, larger, and transparent market.”
Meanwhile, Futures Capital analyst Wahyu Laksono said the momentum to establish a crypto exchange is fitting as Indonesia’s cryptocurrency market continues to grow coinciding with the surge in value and popularity of the digital asset.
