TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Following the introduction of the Hamera Laboratorium in North Jakarta, the local administration officially has added the number of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) labs to 14 in total.
Head of the North Jakarta Health Agency Dr. Yudi Dimyati said the Hamera lab officially adds the number of PCR laboratories to 110 in the Capital City.
“This laboratorium is the 110th that can serve PCR tests in Jakarta. So, this is the 110th lab that is competent in serving PCR tests,” said Dimyati.
The new laboratory has a new task of logging positive Covid-19 cases in real time which Dimyati said is a problem faced by the existing 109 PCR labs. Those labs do not input their data in real time, which will affect the data logging of active cases in Jakarta.
“All this time, the inputs are only done three days later which causes a case spike,” said Dimyati. The Hamera lab set a goal of testing 1,000 samples.
