TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that 13.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been injected into Indonesians as of April 6, 2021. The vaccination capacity reaches 500,000 injections per day.
"This number puts Indonesia in eighth place in the world. In terms of injections carried out by non-vaccine producing countries, Indonesia is in fourth place in the world," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 7.
Indonesia's percentage of cases cured is now at 89.9 percent, higher than the global average of 80.5 percent. This shows that the micro-scale restrictions or PPKM Mikro imposed by the government has been quite effective in reducing transmission rate.
Airlangga claims that Indonesia is handling Covid-19 relatively better than other countries in the world.
This, he said, is seen from the percentage of active cases, which had decreased to a single digit of 7.4 percent. The number is lower than the global average, which stood at 17.3 percent as of April 6, 2021.
