TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Social Affairs Ministry has reportedly distributed up to Rp2.6 billion for the victims of flash floods and mudslides that devastated East Flores and Lembata in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This includes logistics that will be directly distributed from NTT province and the East Java Social Affairs Agency's warehouses.

“The disaster aid will arrive there this afternoon,” said the ministry’s Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, on Monday, April 5.

The government will hand out Rp15 million each to 76 victims' relatives who died in the floods and mudslides whereas the 27 severely injured will be given Rp135 million.

Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharani is scheduled to arrive in the location of the natural disasters to ensure that the victims and those left behind by the deceased would have their basic needs fulfilled. The ministry has also mobilized local disaster mitigation teams (Tagana) to help local authorities handle the situation in the field..
