1 April 2021 Update: New Covid-19 Cases Exceeds 6,000

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Covid-19 Mitigation Task Force released data on new Covid-19 cases recorded as of April 1, 2021. The data revealed that there has been an addition of 6,142 new Covid-19 cases on April 1, 2021. The number brings up the total confirmed cases to 1,717,854 cases.
The number was recorded following examination of 72,794 specimens. The increase is significantly high compared to the last few days, which only records four to five thousand of new cases.
Jakarta remains as the highest contributor to Covid-19 cases with 1,337 cases. Followed by Banten with 905 cases and West Java with 904 cases. Meanwhile, Central Java recorded 670 new cases while other provinces has managed to suppress new cases to lower than 300 cases.
On the other hand, the number of successful recovery increase by 7,248 recoveries, bringing the number of successful recoveries up to 1,355,578.
However, the increaseing number of recoveries is followed by quite high fatalities with 196 deaths. With the addition, the total number of fatalities due to Covid-19 is at 41,054 deaths.
