Indonesia Immigration Deports Russian Interpol Fugitive

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Interpol fugitive Andrew Ayer or Andrey Kovalenko was deported from the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport immigration office on late Tuesday, March 23. He previously escaped from the Ngurah Rai immigration office (Class I TPI Ngurah Rai).

“Andrew was transported back to his country onboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ965 at 19:00 Indonesia Western Time (WIB) that will transit to Singapore before heading to Moscow,” said the immigration office Head of IT and communication at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Sam Fernando, tonight.

He said that Andrew Ayer was escorted from Bali to Jakarta on board Garuda Indonesia flight GA413 and landed at Soekarno-Hatta earlier today. The suspect was picked up by an interpol officer from Russia. 

The Interpol fugitive previously escaped captive from the Ngurah Rai immigarion detention room on route to the Denpasar immigration office.

Soekarno Hatta Airport immigration office has deported 65 foreign nationals and 20 foreigners in 2020 and 2021, respectively, due to various cases.
