NU Education Plays Significant Role in Sharia Economy Development: Sri Mulyani

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said the nation’s largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), played a significant role in the development of Indonesian human resources, including in the economy and the sharia finance sectors.
Sri said NU had successfully combined Islamic and Indonesian values in harmony.
“The educational orientation NU develops is highly relevant and contributing significantly to the development of sharia economy in the digital technology era,” she said during the Sfafiec Inauguration Ceremony and Sharia Finance National Forum held virtually on Friday, March 12, 2021.
According to Sri, human resources development is key to Indonesia to improve its economy and welfare—including its sharia economy that boasts tremendous potential.
Based on the latest data of the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report, Indonesia ranked 4th in 2020 on the global list of nations with the largest sharia finance and economy.
