  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of people who have yet been registered as Covid-19 vaccine recipients on Wednesday, March 10, flocked the 'Covid-19 Vaccine Center' that was set up temporarily at Jakarta's Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex in Senayan. Their presence in the location was reportedly caused by a hoax suggesting the vaccination was open to the general public.

The misinformation spread rampantly on social media, claiming that the vaccination program at GBK was open publicly and people were able to register on the spot.

“There were always those who arrived and we had to explain it in detail that it was a hoax,” said SOEs Minister Erick Thohir staffer, Arya Sinulangga, to Tempo.

Arya maintained that the vaccination at the Covid-19 vaccination center is only for elderlies and public employees who are registered as Jakarta residents. This confirms that the information is a blatant hoax.

In order to make sure that a person is registered in the national Covid-19 vaccination program, Arya suggested people to check the Instagram account for the vaccination center @sentravaksinasibersamabumn or other social media accounts run by the SOEs Ministry.
