TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Special Staffer for the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir, Arya Sinulingga, confirmed that the issue about the government’s Covid-19 vaccination center that is open for the public is a hoax. Arya said the current vaccination program is for elderly people and public employees registered by the government.
“The vaccination center of the SOE Ministry is only open for public employees and the elderly who have been registered in Jakarta. It's not for non-public employees and non-elderly people,” Arya clarified before reporters on Wednesday, March 10.
Previously, issues regarding the opening of the vaccination center for the public went viral on social media and instant messaging platforms.
The viral message stated that the government provided Covid-19 vaccines for the first 5,000 people per day. It was also said that the inoculation for the elderly would be held in the morning and those under 60 in the afternoon. Besides, people allowed to receive the vaccine were not required to have a Jakarta ID Card and could register directly at the site.
Arya underlined that such false news must be clarified so that the national vaccination program could run without a hitch.
Official information regarding the Covid-19 vaccination center of the SOE Ministry is accessible via the government’s Instagram @sentravaksinasibersamabumn and other SOE Ministry’s social media accounts. Presently, the vaccination center only serves the elderly and public servants who have a Jakarta ID Card.
