Yogyakarta Eyeing to Vaccinate 31,000 Workers in Tourism Sector

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Yogyakarta tourism agency is targeting to inoculate 31,000 people working in the tourism business in the city in the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination program.
“The data of 31,000 [people] working in the tourism business have been sent to the Yogyakarta health agency,” said Singgih Rahardjo, Head of the city tourism agency on March 9. Until today, 4,000 of them have been vaccinated.
Based on the data, the people who have received the shots mostly work in hotel and restaurant businesses, as well as members of tourism associations in the city and surrounding regencies.
Singgih believes the vaccination program for the workers in the tourism business will improve people’s trust in visiting Yogyakarta.
