TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Education and Culture Ministry’s Director General of Higher Education, Nizam, ensured that university students will soon receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Referring to the President's instruction, vaccines will be given to all levels of society for free and gradually, including for students,” said Nizam in a written statement, Monday, March 8, 2021.

The vaccination had actually been held for university students since the first stage of the national vaccination. However, it was limited to medical students who were carrying out educational practice at the Covid-19 Referral Hospital.

“The Education and Culture Ministry continues to coordinate with the Health Ministry to provide vaccination services for all in the education unit,” Nizam added.

Since January 2021, universities and higher education institutions have been allowed to apply face-to-face learning under predetermined health protocols based on a joint decree or SKB of Education and Culture Minister, Religious Affairs Minister, Health Minister, and Home Affairs Minister.
