TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Democrat Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) along with the party’s top officials and 34 heads of the party’s Regional Executive Council or DPP across the country planned to visit the Ministry of Law and Human Rights office today, March 8, 2021.
According to Syarief Hasan, a member of the party’s High Council, they will submit their statement regarding the Extraordinary Congress or KLB held in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra on Friday, March 5.
“Tomorrow (Monday), we will convey the statement of the Democrat Party in response to a fake KLB with all evidence we have in terms of legality,” said Syarief at the party’s DPP office in Central Jakarta, Sunday, March 7.
Syarief said they were set to show the Law and Human Rights Ministry that the KLB was illegal and did not comply with the party’s rules of association and internal bylaws (AD/ART). “Violating the AD/ART means breaking the law," he added.
Syarief said his side would come to the ministry office at around 08:30 WIB and claimed to have no idea whether they would meet with Minister Yasonna Laoly. He was also informed that people managing the Deli Serdang KLB would come to the Law and Human Rights Ministry to register the results of the KLB on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Deli Serdang KLB committee, Ilal Ferhard, confirmed that his side would register the KLB results to the Law and Human Rights Ministry on the same day with the AHY group. “Perhaps in the afternoon, I’m still asking for confirmation about the hour,” said Ilal via text message to Tempo.
