TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir on Saturday attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Mosque replica in Solo.
"Alhamdulillah," Erick said on his Instagram post, Saturday, March 6.
Attending the event include Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister H.E Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia H.E Amb. Abdullah Salem Obaid AI Dhaheri, Chairman of UAE General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments H.E Mohammed bin Matar Al Kaabi, as well as Solo City Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
The mosque is a gift from Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for President Joko Widodo when he visited Indonesia in 2019.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the Central Java City of Solo will be built exactly the same to the one in Abu Dhabi.
Erick recalled when he visited the mosque in Abu Dhabi last year, witnessing the beauty and feeling the serene of worshipping inside the biggest mosque in the country.
"Inshaallah, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Solo will be so beautiful. Can't wait to go there once it's (the construction) done," Erick Thohir said.
