TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government has launched a waste management program dubbed large-scale social collaboration in waste management or KSBB Persampahan.
The city’s Environment Agency spokesman Yogi Ikhsan said the program is an online-based donation platform to facilitate people in managing waste.
“KSBB Persampahan will be focused on assisting the management of waste bank facilities, the waste management in the community unit or RW level, the organic waste reduction with a bioconversion method using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae or maggot, and waste cooking oil management,” said Yogi via a short message on Thursday, March 4.
The platform is the result of a collaboration between the Jakarta Environmental Agency and a philanthropic organization Tunas Muda Care Foundation (T-Care). The platform will help collaborators channel their assistance.
It is hoped that Jakartans can actively participate in sorting waste and reap the benefits both economically and ecologically from managing waste. Residents wishing to participate can access https://plusjakarta.com/ksbb.
“This waste issue is not only the responsibility of those who handle it in the landfill, but it is our common responsibility,” Yogi underlined.
