Ulema Council Members Receive Covid-19 Vaccines

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Health Ministry on Wednesday has officially started to vaccinate Ulemas in Indonesia amidst the phase two Covid-19 vaccination program with 250 members of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) as vaccine recipients.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin was present at the vaccination held at the MUI headquarters in Central Jakarta.
“The leaders in the ulema council had vaccines today,” said MUI Chairperson of dakwa, Cholil Nafis, after receiving his vaccine shot.
According to him the initial vaccination will give shots to 250 people and will be followed up by vaccinating another 250 ulemas bringing the total to 500 vaccines for ulemas.
MUI secretary general Muhammad Ziyad said that the vaccination also registered their family members as an attempt to reassure the public that the vaccine is safe and most importantly halal.
