TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's anti-terror squad, Densus 88, secured several sharp objects and documents during a raid at the home of a suspected terrorist in Tambakrejo Village, Kediri Regency, East Java on Tuesday, March 2. Among the weapons confiscated were knives, swords, and air rifles.
The search was conducted after the police arrested SD a.k.a. SH. The local neighborhood chief, Muryono, said he witnessed the search.
The village chief of Tembakrejo, Mahfud Fauzi, said the suspect had only been living there for four months with his wife and two small children.
"[The family] is from Surabaya, not residents of Tambakrejo. But SH is domiciled in Tambakrejo," he said.
Over the past week, Densus 88 has arrested 20 suspected terrorists in a number of areas in East Java. Last Friday, Densus arrested 12 suspected terrorists. On Monday, eight other people were also arrested.
