Police, Immigration Arrest Russian Drug Fugitives in Bali

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The joint team of the National Police, Bali Police's mobile detectives (Resmob), and the Special Class I of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office had finally arrested the international Russian fugitive wanted by Interpol, Andrew Ayer a.k.a. Andrei Kovalenka.
The National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono said the international fugitive was nabbed at Villa Seminyak II located on Jalan Umalas 1, North Kuta, early Wednesday, February 24.
“The team from the National Police and the Bali Police along with the Special Class I of Ngurah Rai Immigration have arrested Russian foreigner listed in Interpol Red Notice, Andrew Ayer alias Andrei Kovalenka,” said Argo in a written statement on Wednesday.
A woman named Ekaterina Trubkina who is Andrew’s girlfriend was also detained as she was suspected of helping him escape. “He is secured with his girlfriend without resistance and is taken to the Immigration office,” said Argo.
Andrew Ayer managed to escape on February 11, 2021, while the officers working to process his transfer from the detention room at the Special Class I of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to the detention center of Denpasar Immigration Office. Prior to his escape, he received a visit from his female colleague Ekaterina Trubkina.
