Bio Farma Prepares 11.4 Mn Doses for COVID-19 Vaccination Phase Two

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bio Farma COVID-19 vaccination spokesperson Bambang Heriyano said during Monday’s vaccination for the elderly virtual discussion there would be 11.4 million doses of vaccine ready for use in March 2021.
“We predict this month will produce 7.5 million doses and 11.4 million in March,” said Bambang on Monday, February 22.
This new batch of vaccine doses are being prepared by the state-pharmaceutical firm to support the government’s nationwide vaccination aimed at 38 million public service officials and elderly people aged above 60 years old.
The first phase, according to the government, has successfully vaccinated 1.48 millionhealthcare workers since January 2021.
Those categorized as people working in public services include firefighters, village leaders, traditional market traders, services in the tourism industry, public transport workers, athletes, up to journalists in 34 provinces.
However, the number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients will vary in each region depending on the policies of the Health Ministry.
