  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police on Friday had reportedly rerouted the traffic in a number of public streets in East, South, and Central Jakarta due to floods that has struck the capital city, caused by the constant rain from Thursday night to Friday morning.

The Metro Jaya Police official Instagram account stated that the traffic diversion was enacted at the streets under the Cawang Toll road earlier today at 05:54 local time due to floods measuring up to half a meter.

Meanwhile, vehicles passing Jalan Suprapto in East Jakarta’s Kampung Makasar and South Jakarta’s North Kemang street had to be redirected due to similar conditions. The water flooded the road of around 50-60 centimeters high.

Other areas that were submerged with water below half a meter took place in East Jakarta’s DI Panjaitan and Kalimalang streets while the worst hit was the Kalimalang Toll road exit that was flooded up to one-meter.
