TEMPO.CO, Tuban - As many as 560 residents of Sumurgeneng Village, Jenu District, Tuban Regency, East Java, have received over IDR1.8 trillion, said the village head Gihanto.
The money was obtained from the sales of lands that would be used for oil refinery projects located on the north coast of Jenu District by state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and Russia's Rosneft oil company.
Gihanto said the compensation for 560 out of a total of 2,700 villagers had been disbursed. The disbursement process was done in three stages in March 2020, November 2020, and February 2021.
"The disbursement completes," said Gihanto to Tempo on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
The money was directly sent to the land owners' bank account with the help of the Tuban District Court. The disbursement was carried out gradually based on the amount of the profit and the area.
Gihanto mentioned that in Sumurgeneng Village, the villager who got the highest compensation from Pertamina was under the name of Haji Wangkid at IDR 26 billion, while the lowest fund was channeled to Haji Sukandar at IDR 36 million. "So the money is received directly by landowners through a bank account," he said.
