TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria reported that based on the city administration’s latest data, the occupancy rate of the Covid-19 referral hospitals across the city had dropped.

According to him, the current occupancy rate of independent isolation beds and ICU rooms in 101 referral hospitals is 78 percent and 74 percent, respectively.

However, Riza said the provincial government would continue to improve every effort related to the handling of coronavirus disease in the capital. “We will keep increasing the number of hospitals, beds, ICU rooms, and health workers. We will improve everything,” he said at the City Hall on Wednesday, February 17.

Previously reported, over 80 percent of isolation beds and ICU rooms in hospitals specialized to treat Covid-19 patients in Jakarta were occupied. On January 10, the occupancy rate of ICU rooms even hit 85 percent, while that of the self-isolation beds reached 86 percent.

Riza Patria explained that until now the Covid-19 referral hospitals in Jakarta are still receiving and treating patients from outside the Capital City. The number, he continued, ranged from 24-28 percent of the total patients in Jakarta. “We serve all [patients regardless of their domicile],” he said.
