TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno asked the government to prioritize the tourism sector and the creative economy players for the Covid-19 vaccination.
“The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy highly appreciates 55,000 traders in Tanah Abang who undergo vaccination today along with President Joko Widodo, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Jakarta Governor of Anies Baswedan,” said Sandiaga in a written statement on Wednesday, February 17.
According to him, traders in Tanah Abang Market, which is one of the largest centers of fashion products in Southeast Asia, are part of the creative economy players.
“However, there are 34 million others in the tourism sector and creative economy who are waiting to be prioritized by the government and of course stakeholders in the health sector,” he said.
Thus, Sandiaga Uno suggested the government prioritize people in the tourism sector, especially those who directly deal with the people as a form of public service, for Covid-19 vaccination, particularly in Bali and several other leading tourist destinations in the country.
